Hello, I’m Pauline Woods and as well as being the head teacher of our school I am also a member of the governing body.
I believe that we are very lucky to have such a committed, supportive team of governors who are proactive and passionate about ensuring that the well-being and progress of our pupils is at the centre of our decision making.
As the head teacher, I am responsible for writing a report for each meeting. The report contains information about the quality of teaching, pupil progress, leadership and management and behaviour and safety. This is shared and discussed with the governors at our meetings. The governors also have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify issues.
I also make sure that I keep the governors fully informed of any new staff appointments, new initiatives and share information about school life in general.
Our meetings are always lively, well attended and although strategic, very enjoyable. The governors visit school regularly to monitor pupil progress and the quality of teaching.
