My name is Sam Wheeler, I have been a governor at Brookfield Infant School since January 2009. I then went on to become a governor at Brookfield Junior School in 2013. I’m looking forward now to continue as a federation governor working with both schools sharing the same ethos.
I first became involved with the school when my eldest son, James, started in September 2008. I wanted to help the school build a better reputation in the community.
I have three sons: James, William and Harry who have all attended Brookfield. I wear many different hats in the school as a parent, a governor, a member of FOBS and I have the pleasure of being a teaching assistant at the infant school.
Initially I was a parent governor, but I am now a co-opted governor; I am responsible for monitoring finance, pupil premium and children’s outcomes; I am also the federation’s training governor.
I love my role and find it interesting to see, behind the scenes, how the school and its staff work so hard to give the children the best possible start in their education.
